Media Buyer and Performance Marketing Expert
To support us during an exciting time of growth and expansion we are looking for a detail-oriented Media Buyer and Performance Marketing Expert to help drive and shape our customer acquisition strategy.
The Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF) is the world’s leading online design school. We’re market leaders because the world's leading design experts work with us to create our content and help teach our students.
We’re proud to say that we’ve put together an amazing organization where people support, inspire, and challenge each other every day. Not only that, but we have a mission to help build a better future for millions of people around the world.
We are primarily a remote company with around 40 employees, spread across 30 countries. We’re growing fast and set on course to grow even faster. But something’s missing, and we think it could be you.
What you will be doing
Are you a true digital marketing wizard, a master of paid ads, with a data-driven and result-oriented work style? We are on the hunt for an exceptional individual who breathes life into the phrase "ideas are worthless without execution." Our organization is full of senior experts committed to long-term excellence, and we seek a like-minded enthusiast to join our ranks. If you're ready to embark on a journey where sustained effort and consistency are the keystones to phenomenal results, then read on. This role is definitely not for the faint-hearted or the average; it's a calling to a true nerd of digital marketing who thrive in the deep end of technical complexity and innovation.
Here are some examples of what we envision you’ll be working on, depending on your skillset:
Help us develop and refine paid ads across major ad platforms such as LinkedIn, Google, Meta, etc.
Pinpoint and alleviate bottlenecks within each stage of the funnel, employing analytical prowess to identify areas for optimization. Your role extends beyond crafting compelling ads; it involves dissecting the user journey, ensuring seamless transitions from awareness to conversion, and ultimately fostering a lasting relationship throughout their entire IxDF membership.
Help us visually map out customer journeys and funnels to enable holistic, big-picture thinking and thus fine-tune all aspects from high-level strategy down to the nitty-gritty details of micro-copy and composition of visual assets.
Manage and optimize ad spend across various campaigns and platforms, depending on which platforms are your specialty. This involves understanding and implementing bid strategies that align with campaign goals, whether it's maximizing conversions, increasing brand awareness, or driving traffic.
Spear-head the launch of user acquisition in new ad channels such as TikTok. Take the full-circle responsibility of making each new channel ROI positive.
Dive (very) deep into the intricacies of ad targeting on platforms like Google Ads and various social media channels.
Engage in the meticulous crafting and fine-tuning of visual assets and videos for paid ad campaigns and their never-ending incremental improvements. This includes collaboration with our video teams for video assets, ensuring that the video content is not only engaging but also optimized for conversion, especially in video sales pages.
Ethically implement principles of cognitive psychology and neuromarketing in crafting ad copy. Utilize frameworks such as AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) and PAS (Problem, Agitate, Solution), translating psychological insights into compelling micro-copy that resonates with the targeted demographics. Your copy should seamlessly integrate with the visual elements, creating a cohesive and persuasive narrative that drives action.
Be responsible for A/B testing and conversion rate optimization of your ads. Execute multivariate testing on ad creatives and landing page elements and ensure statistically significant improvements.
Be responsible for data reconciliation and attribution accuracy between GTM, GA4 and various ad platforms so we know that ad platforms are not overattributing themselves.
Spearhead the creation of video landing pages. This includes drafting the layout, scripting the video content, and potentially integrating interactive elements that encourage viewer engagement and lead to higher conversion rates. In collaboration with your talented colleagues, of course.
Contribute to projects and initiatives in collaboration with the broader marketing team.
Develop new insights about our users and communicate pertinent findings to help drive decision-making and strategies for user acquisition and engagement.
Engage closely with the Campaigns Manager to implement and support campaign strategies, emphasizing a collaborative approach and cultivating success as a unified team.

What can we offer?
An opportunity to work in a team of ad specialists, designers, analytics engineers who set the bar very high.
The satisfying responsibility of the full lifecycle from strategy and analysis all the way to technical execution and implementation.
A full-time position, within a fully remote organisation. Daily video-based contact with your colleagues from elsewhere on the planet, and you’ll get to meet them on team trips 1–2 times per year.
Forget fluffy titles, political agendas and corporate drama. Your colleagues value your character, work ethic, and what you actually achieve. Junior or senior, if you embody old-school virtues of always striving to become the best version of yourself, you'll thrive at the IxDF.
Work with a highly scalable impact-driven model where we’ve consistently created more than 50% growth year-on-year since 2013. Work in a company culture where idealism meets high performance and excellence. To help us improve the world (and yourself in the process), you’ll need grit, work ethic, long-term thinking, and self-discipline.
Work with people who have a hands-on attitude and a bias towards action as opposed to fluff-filled, unrealistic strategies. You’ll need crisp execution skills yourself and the ability to impress your colleagues with concrete results, just like they’ll impress you.
